Ottawa Roller Derby (ORD) is a non-profit organization that has been promoting the sport of roller derby in Ottawa, Canada since its establishment in 2007. As a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), ORD is dedicated to empowering individuals through the exciting and fast-paced world of roller derby.
The organization offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for people of all skill levels and backgrounds to participate in the sport. ORD operates multiple home teams, including the Slaughter Daughters, the Capital Carnage, and the Bytown Blackhearts, which compete against each other and other teams from across North America.
In addition to their home teams, ORD also runs a robust junior program called the Ottawa Junior Roller Derby (OJRD). This program is designed for young skaters aged 10-18 and focuses on teaching the fundamentals of roller derby while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Ottawa Roller Derby is committed to community engagement and regularly hosts events and fundraisers to support local charities and initiatives.
